llevar (to take, to wear, to cope with, to handle)

So I was hoping I would be writing this looking out at the lovely mountains of La Paz, but alas, no luck. Instead I am sitting on the 9th floor of a Holiday Inn cafe with a great view of the Miami airport landing strip. "Bevenuto a Miami" as Will Smith would say. Unfortunately, due to a delay leaving New York last night (the pilots were mia!), I missed my connecting flight to Bolivia and am stuck in Miami for the day.

The good news: American Airlines gave me a voucher for a free hotel and meals, so I am trying to make this into a bit of a mini-vacation if I can :)
The bad news: Unfortunately, I packed for winter (it's winter in La Paz now and can be in the 20-30s at night) and so I am sweating here in Mimai in my sweatshirt and fleece!

The plan is to try to get on a flight tonight (fingers crossed!) otherwise worse case I will catch a flight that leaves Sunday night and gets me into La Paz on Monday morning. Today my plan is to read, relax and hopefully find some deodorant!

I thought my spanish word of the day (you can get a word emailed to you daily at www.SpanishDict.com/wordoftheday) was fitting given the situation:
llevar (verb, pronounced yeh-varr) -- to take, to wear, to cope with, to handle
Usually it's used most commonly when referring to wearing clothes, but I learned it can also means to cope with or to handle.

Amanda lleva la desgracia. (Amanda copes with misfortune)
Amanda lleva las ropas de ayer. (Amanda wears clothes from yesterday)
